>>36453162>KantoThe fact that it started it all. Not that Kanto doesn't have redeeming qualities, but I'm so utterly sick of everything about it.
>Johto The general comfiness of the region and unfamiliarity that comes with earlier gens. Being the first new region with new pokemon, it has that feeling of nostalgia and that there might me something you aren't aware of. The spaceworld demo was what made me realize this.
>Hoenn The new direction of the series, because this was the point where pokemon adopted the design philosophy it follows now. Hoenn also has a ton of really cool mons that stemmed from it.
>Sinnoh Easily the lore with all the legendaries introduced. The events that came with them fleshed out the world, and the Pokemon themselves. I pray we get an in-game event as perfect as the Darkrai one again. All the cross-gen evos were incredible. Also, gen 4 had the best remakes in the series.
>UnovaThe story, and notably N. This was the first game to attempt to have a deeper story, with lore to accompany it if you are interested enough.
>KalosMega Evolutions, as they were basically nostalgia sex and defined the entire generation.
>AlolaUltra Space, because I love the doors it opened up for the series. Seeing the brand new worlds that came from travelling gave me a sense of child-like wonder that only the GameCube rpgs could give me. I sincerely hope these worlds get expanded on in the future, because they made generation 7 for me, despite them being glorified hallways.
