They're guaranteed to do well in Japan just because they have Pokemon in their name.
Masuda's been chasing western normies ever since GO managed to be more profitable than the entire goddamned franchise has after Pokemania ceased to be, and so far Let's Go is racking up incredibly poor numbers compared to other upcoming releases because no normie in their right fucking mind is going to buy a $60 game that requires an addition $50 for a Mew, $20 for online features and $5 if they're interested in transferring from Let's Go to Gen 8 when they can just keep playing GO.
