FRLG came out 14 years ago, on January 29, 2004. Diamond and Pearl came out on September 28, 2006- 12 years ago.

In order for someone to be currently underage, have their first Pokemon game be FRLG, and start playing the games before Diamond and Pearl released and Gen 4 officially started, they'd have to be somewhere in the age range of 3 (if they picked it up around release day) to 5 (if they picked it up right before Diamond and Pearl came out). I'm pretty sure that at that point, most kids don't even know how to read yet- kind of a crucial skill in an RPG.

Like it or not, I and most of my fellow hoennbabbies are adults. Feel old yet?

What did you do? Throw it at a wall in an autistic rage and expect it to survive?

Just kidding, I actually did that once. Screen broke, not the hinges even though it was open. I have about 20 total GBA SP, DS and 3DS systems and none of them have issues with the hinges despite tens of thousands of hours of use. 4 of them have had other issues (the aforementioned screen I broke, one screen that broke when dropped in laundry, of all things, and two with button issues AKA I wore them out), but never the hinge.

If they broke on you then had to have been overly violent with them or let people use them who were because it definitely wasn't a build quality problem.
