In order for someone to be currently underage, have their first Pokemon game be FRLG, and start playing the games before Diamond and Pearl released and Gen 4 officially started, they'd have to be somewhere in the age range of 3 (if they picked it up around release day) to 5 (if they picked it up right before Diamond and Pearl came out). I'm pretty sure that at that point, most kids don't even know how to read yet- kind of a crucial skill in an RPG.
Like it or not, I and most of my fellow hoennbabbies are adults. Feel old yet?
