Eh I like it, its bow gimmick is pretty cool and it easily has the most well-established unique identity of any Grass starter except maybe Venusaur

You're right though it's super weird that they chose to makes the wings all floppy

Its bow gimmick is the dumbest fucking shit I've seen in this series full of dumb shit, because even in context it makes no sense. It doesn't even USE the bow. Its arm doesn't move. The string does all the work. You could do it yourself with a hoodlace and see how flimsily it shoots. Even Gamefreak realized this and gave it magic arrows to compensate, except if they're magic then why even have the bow? Dumbest fucking shit.

I dunno, mate, it sounds like you'd have to be REALLY particular about how bows work to care about something like that, or maybe I'm just dumb for not knowing that the bow part of the bow bends.

Really, my favourite part is all the little arrows on the wing to kind of act as visual aids. They're pretty neat.

A bow works by doing something. It does nothing in this design. It's not even a bow, it's just an arm holding a string. It's like if Samurott was holding its swords only to punch you with its fists.

You kinda have to. When designing something, one have to take into account the mechanic of how something works. You can disregard one or two parts, but it has to still make sense. The simpler the mechanic is, the less thing you're allowed to disregard.
E.g. a futuristic gun that shoots black hole and a square wheel both doesn't make sense physically, but people are more likely to have problem with the latter because "it's such a simple thing, how do you screw that up?".
