>knowledgeableHe knows a lot about the franchise in general, it's been his life's work. But competitively he doesn't know much since he doesn't play Smogon or VGC anymore, and hasn't for years last I checked.
He's controversial because he basically acts like a drama whore and has over the years moved his channel from focusing on in-game guides and news update, to focusing on causing drama in different Pokemon communities such as Smogon, VGC and fellow Youtubers, as well as tackling cheating in Pokemon which by itself is a hornet's nest.
That's as objective as I can get.
