Anyone over the age of 18 watches pokemon anime because:
1) They're very heavily autistic, see: Bronies
2) They are shippers. They want to see Ash get it on with one of the many waifus, because they are their self inserts, and they will never score IRL, anyways
3) The Reddit audience, who remembers the Good Old DaysTM, and watches the show while sipping on some soi milk
It's always been like that. Nobody is telling you to stop watching the show, but stop lying to yourself, at least
