Ruby and Sapphire just have Beldum, a Lati, a Battle Tower that only does singles, and not even the National Dex until you trade with FRLG.

Your call on whether that’s better or worse than Gen I and its Cerulean Cave.

Yes because they not only are fucking islands you also can't surf from one another because they were too lazy to think of other ways to avoid sequence-breaking. All in all they seemed like the most rushed and least thought out endgame out of the endgame that was actually made and not bulshitted like >>36482419

My theory is that even though it would be easier to just adapt Johto than thinking of a whole new area from the scratch they didn't want to think of new Gym leaders to substitute the ones that were too young in GSC to already be leading at RBY's timeline.

At the time they were a cool way to fill part of the then relatively inaccessible Johtodex. What happened after them and the original battle frontier with the exception of HGSS and gen 5(.5) postgame wise is a tragedy.

I think the only other things are:

Still, that's not really much, considering most of those are one-off events. You can't even control when the rooftop sales occur as far as I know.

honestly, the battle island from D/P felt awful. Just shoehorned so you can catch some oldschool mon without swarms. They didn't even give it any aesthetics, it's just trees you would find in sinnoh mainland, compared to platinum rendition, they feel like genuine beta content that was shipped and paid for

Hell yes, only my ember and the rocket warehouse were worthy of note also only place in fr LG to find unown and johto Pokemon.

Lilie is too much in a short space.
Gold and silver set the standard for player freedom between rival battles.
But the blue rival battle after rock tunnel is cruel.

The only bad thing about the Sevii Isles honestly is the lack of a normal Battle Tower or any other Battle Facilities besides just Trainer Tower.

Not even close. There are at least 3 sets of games with worse postgame content.
RBY have a cave which is obnoxious to explore due to encounters having high levels.
RSE only offer battle related stuff. Emerald is slightly better than RS but it's still pretty bad.
XY have Looker story, one new town and everything else is just typical stuff - catching legendaries, battling, trading and breeding. At least the latter 2 got much better.

I am fond of exploring new areas after credits so games like GSC and BW appeal to me more. I consider Sevii Islands a great addition to Kanto.
