The vast majority of its posters refuse to admit it, though, so instead of just leaving it be they keep making threads for topics that wouldn't even constitute a lame shitpost on most other boards.

People like to think that /vp/ is necessary to keep Pokéautism contained, but this isn't Gen 5 anymore. The hype for this series is all but gone now, and you could probably contain just about all of this board's current content in a single general thread at this point.
