>>36485297I still find the first bag and PC systems to be horribly designed, but they were the very first games. They will always be really mixed to me.
>>36485357That's because of how the games have evolved, dork. Gens VI and VII were more competitive based, but it really annoys me how some Pokemon have really shitty movepools. Still, Johto had some cool mons, improved a lot of mechanics from gen I and added many more (breeding, shinies, happiness, special attack and defense, held items) as well as one big postgame (although Johto is short overall and Kanto feels more like the third act of the game), day/night cycle, Battle Tower, and Crystal is fun to play from time to time
>>36485315These games feel fast and have a nice tropical region. They hadn't fixed the physical/special thing and the evil teams felt kinda stupid and forced, as well as the two rivals are really lame (May doesn't even have her starter fully evolved, you only fight Wally twice in the games) and felt even less advanced than gen 2 in terms of aesthetics (no day/night, no Pokemon animations until Emerald).
On the bright side, they brought Battle Frontier, cool mysteries (Regis) and stuff like abilities, double battles, and improved the IV and EV thigs, and Emerald started to make breeding and other mechanics easier and better. I also liked contests and secret bases.
>>36485204>Saving a lot of data memeGen IV was just slow. Besides this and the HMs overuse, gen IV is amazing. The story is way better than in gens II and III and they finally did the physical and special split as well as online conections. They kept contests, secret bases (as well as underground) and added a nice postgame. Legendaries were cool and made the exploration even better and more rewarding.
