Seriously, it copies the "field of vertical red-and-white stripes, with a blue canton bearing stars" pattern from it. That's WHY the Confederate battle flag (the starred saltire one) exists- soldiers were getting confused on the battlefield, and shooting their allies because their allies were flying what looked like the same flag as their enemies. (It's also why the Stars and Bars were eventually dropped for the Stainless Banner- a field of white with the battle flag in a canton- which was then dropped for the Blood-Stained Banner, which was the Stainless Banner with a stripe of red down the side so it wasn't mistaken for a flag of truce. (Which it quickly became.))
Second, you probably were talking about the battle flag in the first place. That flag is NOT the Stars and Bars- it doesn't have bars. It has a fucking cross.
