Here's a hot take I am sure /vp/ will like:

Blue was never a good character. He was not an amazing rival. He isn't even the intimidating dick most people remember him as, most of his dialogue is actually pretty friendly towards you. Contrary to popular belief, he WAS the original friendly rival.

He just has a slightly snarky attitude, and the annoying "Smell ya later" catchphrase, and for some reason it feels like 90% of the fanbase remembers him as some brutal colossal cunt who was pushing your shit in and making you burn with fury to beat him. But this just isn't the case. Makes me wonder how recently most people have even played the Gen 1 games.
