Except it's not. When these games sell better than main series, this is what the main series games will be like after gen 8. There's no reason for the games to not be like Let's Go if they sell well, because they are easier to make and quicker to make. Game freak already complains main series is too hard to mak, so if these sell well, they are the new standard. Starting to believe the meme of "Gamefreak could put Pikachus face on a pile of shit and still sell it for $60"

If I were Masuda, I would be fucking embarrassed right now. Nowadays, games like Persona 5, Dragon Quest XI and Octopath Traveller are making bank in the West and get praised to high heaven by both critics and players of all ages.
