here is the order, they're meant to be enjoyed one after another, like a franchise:
Fire red/Leaf green(If you want to ease yourself into the new machanics)
Emerald
Colosseum and then Gale of Darkness on a dolphin emulator(Optional, but very enjoyable experience)
Platinum
Heartgold or Soul Silver(Sequel to RBY and FR/LG)
Black or White 1 and then 2(Same version both times)
And then, you get to play X or Y, and later, either Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon. Ignore all the shitters telling you XYZ game is bad, they're all enjoyable if you stop comparing them, each one is a different experience, and treat it as such
Do you have an old DS? If so, I recommend buying a R4 cart so you can download all the games sans XY and Ultras for free, but you won't be able to transfer them to later games that way, you need real game carts for that
BTW, if that's your thing, every single pokemon since gen 3 can be transferred all the way into the latest games, and onwards, so that's why I told you to start at the GBA era, not the GBC era with GSC
