My friends and family in real life don't play the games either, but I've built my entire life around Pokemon. It's the one thing that defines me. I can't just say 'no' to a game, even if I'm well aware that the target audience is preschool-age. Someday I'll have kids of my own and be able to tell them how much fun I had with it.
