wanna rate my concept for a new game mechanic?
>type affinity
>each pokemon has an affinity to a certain type other tthan their own, which gives them a 1.2 multiplier to moves of that type.
>each species has a pool of 1 to 3 affinities they can naturally have, each single pokemon gets one from that pool. These "natural" affinities usually make sense, i.e. psychic type for golduck, dragon type for gyarados,bug and dark for drapion. Ditto, arceus, mew, silvally and type:null can have an affinity to any type
>affinities get passed down through breeding just like natures
>a pokemon can get an affinity that is not in their natural pooll by inheriting it from any parent, including ditto
>there is an item, a la ability capsule, that lets you change a pokemon's affinity
>movepools in general become a bit more varied, so that affinities can be used effectively
