Silver is literally the embodiment of Smogon.

Silver says weak Pokémon are shit, only the strong matter, etc.

Karen is the exact opposite.

It's funny how Smogonfags are the losers in the Pokémon world and Karenfags are the winners who become Gym leaders and E4 members.

The games always drill into your head the importance of friendship, loyalty and respecting your Pokémon but none of that matters when it comes to competitive battleing where the tables are turned and Silverfags are the best.

Silver probably grew up seeing Pokemon being used regularly and saw being cold as the norm. Surely some of the Team Rocket rhetoric rubbed off on him in some way to make him the way he is to Pokemon and people. They could have gone more in depth in this but they didn't. I'm not convinced he acts just like them regardless if he wants to admit it or not just because he decided to leave in a rage.

He was kidnapped in the manga if I'm remembering right. In the games he gets mad Giovanni lost and runs away after they get into a fight. I think Giovanni was leaving to rebuild Team Rocket and that's what triggered it. I
