>>36530782It's not wrong to hope for at least one new Eeveelution in Gen 8, as Game Freak has made it a tradition to introduce Eeveelutions in even-numbered generations since Gen II. But Ash possibly catching an Eevee here isn't going to indicate much of anything. This isn't the Aipom scenario from Battle Frontier, where Ash only caught it because Aipom would get an evolution in DP. This Eevee will be shown off not for Gen 8 promotion, but for LGPE promotion. And since the LGPE Eevee doesn't evolve and is just a shillmon like the LGPE Pikachu (which in turn is based on Yellow Pikachu, which is based on Ash's Pikachu), it will likely never evolve.
