To an equal extent, the owl fanbase during leak season was obnoxious as fuck, so Incineroar getting the game viability and anime appearances, and Primarina ruling popularity polls and merch sales, has been delicious irony and schadenfreude due to Decidueye being worthless in the games and so far a throw-away jobber in its single anime appearance as well as Ash's Rowlet likely never evolving.
Me? I like Incineroar and I'm happy with what it got. VGC king, tons of nice official art, two dedicated anime appearances and a surprise cameo in the latest one. I can't complain, neither can most catfags really. Can't speak for the other two starter fanbases.
