Not really. TLJ sucked because it tried to be way too different and "subvert expectations" while not saying anything new and not having any respect for the source material. If LGPE turned out to be an action gacha mobage where Red is a degenerate drug addict who lost all reasons to live and Misty drowned herself after getting raped by Team Rocket grunts - that would've an equivalent to TLJ.
LGPE is closer to Teen Titans Go, as this >>36540122 anon mentioned. Except that TTG is at least self-aware, while this is just fucking soulless.

Nah, it's more similar to Solo: nobody wanted it and its flop would be good for the franchise.
However one big difference is that Solo lost Disney tons of money, while LGPE can't lose money even in the worst case scenario since it's made mostly of reused assets

It's sad seeing how Star Wars has fallen. It used to be bigger than Pokemon, but ever since Disney got ahold of it, they've overmilked it by putting out a game and a movie every year, causing people to become fatigued with the franchise.

Pokemon can get away with that because the franchise is designed for it, but Star Wars isn't.
