>Sugimori: In the earliest days of Pokemon Red and Pokemon Green's development, I drew a piece of concept art. Even in those days, there were Pokemon that would let people ride on their backs like horse do, Pokemon that would take you to distant places like an airplane might, and Pokemon that would go everywhere with you as your partner. What really came out of that was the sense of each Pokemon's size. If they were as huge as dinosaurs, they couldn't really coexist with humans, so we used humans as a standard and settle down into designing the Pokemon to be a bit big or a bit smaller than people.

They use humans as the "standard" when deciding what size Pokemon should be. Since they're supposed to co-exist with humans, they're usually not much bigger than them.

Asides from that, they gave it the short end on everything else. I mean for fuck sake its the only mascot legend that can't fly, fucking Kyurem-White can fly in the Hoopa movie, they could've done a nod to the fled message it had in R/S/E.

Anime/lore wise, Kyogre got more of a better form change.

What did Kyogre get when it got it's primal, being able to fly, a scene where it's destroying the world with a shit tone of cyclones.

What did Groudon get, nothing but a volcano scene and it beaming Team Magma.

The anime's been doing size variation among species since the original series. Ash's Noctowl was shown in its debut episode to be smaller than normal.

At least it got a new form. Hoenn's trio all got new forms while Johto and Sinnoh got passed over. People have basically been using the same legends from those games for over a decade.

Tbh, I wish Groudon kept his "Sun and Land God/Avatar" status pre ORAS/S&M, drought kind of brought that out sense it was so hyped up in the games, but Solgaleo came and claimed that spot. I still find it funny how Groudon can make a nuclear reactor.
