Guzma's masquerain survived a rock tomb from my scolipede (jolly nature)

Lusamine's mismagius outsped my modest ribombee.

Their Pokemon are like maybe 3-4 levels above mine, but even when my adamant golisopod uses the same attack against guzam's golisopod, it isn't even comparable, his does way more damage

Pokémon's always had NPCs with pokemon that are evolved earlier than they naturally should be or have stats and moves that you can't replicate normally. I heard something about Lusamine's pokemon all having perfect IVs or something, and the game will definitely throw irregular stat boosts and tactics at you without broadcasting it.

It's hard to image that even in the 30s range, their EVs/IVs would be so much better than the ones I accumulate that they stomp me.

Oh well, just curious if GF gave some hidden stat buffs

I wouldn't be surprised if Guzma's Golisopod is guaranteed to have a +Attack nature. Levels, EVs, and IVs make a big difference, and since nature boosts are percentage based, his Adamant nature benefits him more than yours does. All this shit adds up quickly.

Mismagius outspeeding Ribombee isn't surprising at all. Her Mismagius is level 41; even if you were at the same level, and both of you have absolute max speed apart from your nature, you only outspeed by 4 points (145 to 141). Between you being lower leveled and presumably less speed-invested, you weren't gonna outspeed it. Also, this is all assuming you aren't talking about the second fight since Mismagius has a speed boost in that one.

Masquerain surviving Rock Tomb isn't too big either. Again, assuming 31 IVs on both, Scolipede has 252 attack, and Masquerain has no defense or HP (no idea how much of this is true, but I imagine the real stats would greatly benefit Guzma), you'd only need to be 3 levels lower to miss the KO.
