What do you guys usually use your masterballs on? I hear lots of people frown upon using them for legendaries so I want to know what toy guys think.

Apart from Mewtwo in gen I, I don't usually use my masterballs. That said when I finally start shiny hunting the Gen IV box legends in Platinum, I'll use them then.

I haven't used one since Gold and Silver. I always catch pokemon in regular pokeballs, excluding shiny Magikarp which always goes in a Luxury or Premier.

I save them for the absolute tiny chance of encountering shiny Pokemon that have a chance to explode, teleport, or otherwise end the battle. Anything else can easily be caught with False Swipe + Status.

Basically this or >>36548098 this. Roaming Pokemon are basically dead though, so I tend to use them on Shinies that are suicidal or want to fuck off from battle.

Only non-shiny Mewtwo. The fact that it's purple and it has the M right on the Pokeball creates a match that really only Mewtwo fits with.

Of course, Shiny Mewtwo are gonna need something else.

Pretty much the only time I ever use a Master Ball nowadays. Always enjoyed throwing random balls at a legendary when their catch rates weren't so fucking high that it ruined the fun.

Call it autism, but I only ever use standard pokeballs, because I don't want a random great ball ruining my party.

I wish you could swap/customise balls for pokemon you've caught.

I use them on whatever legendary is an absolute motherfucker to catch.
Usually roaming, though recently the tendency to give legendaries Recover has driven me to use it against these particular bastards.

Deoxys is particularly bad because it's retardedly fast and I don't think people are willing to raise a Pokemon that has encore and is guaranteed to be faster to exhaust Recover PP. I would rather just have Master Ball's be purchasable post-game for some retardedly obscene amount of money because I used one of Kyogre because >>36549847

I actually like fighting Legendaries with Aqua Ring like Kyogre and Tapu Fini because you can just burn them with Will-o-Wisp, that cancels out the healing effect without dealing further burn damage and also inflicts a status condition for catching
