Remember when the Sonic Boom series was revealed and people were afraid that it would replace the main Sonic series, despite SEGA saying outright that both series would co-exist?

That's the Pokemon fanbase with LGPE right now.

you're trying to be facetious with this parallel you're drawing but it's actually right on the money. all of the games Sonic Team made after Sonic Boom were trash despite being unrelated to the spinoff, capping off with Sonic Forces. all of the things people didn't like about Sonic weren't going to be separated and put into this separate game so the "main series" would get better, the game was shit and unsurprisingly the main series only kept getting worse because the people developing it are astronomically out of touch.

the difference is that we won't ever be allowed to have a Pokemon Mania made by people who aren't fucking clueless to completely embarrass game freak.

Modern Pokemon plays no differently from old Pokemon.

So what would the purpose of a "Pokemon Mania" be? Pokemon isn't like Sonic which drastically changes it gameplay every other game.

there's more to a game than how it plays, dumbass. even if sonic 4 were a perfect 1:1 recreation of the genesis physics the game would still be ass because of its level design and art direction

The goal would be to capture the best elements of past games, I guess. So more side content and post-game, focus on making the world immersive and fun to explore, improving on older mechanics or Pokemon, work on glaring balancing issues, and maybe giving people the mean rivals that have been absent since Gen III.

Except Sonic is a niche series these days and Boom was a commercial failure. On the other hand Pokemon brings in cash for it's name alone and every title sells 1 million or higher with ease. Trying to compare Sonic Boom to LGPE to support your redundant argument isn't helping you chief, sorry. LGPE is more than likely going to sell, and when it does there will be more of them in the future.

EVEN IF LGPE didn't exist, the mainline games will continue to be casualized so it's a lose lose situation.

It literally is and if you can't accept that it's on your head delusion-kun. Mania was the best title Sonic has had in years and it was made by a bunch of hackers in the community. Not only that but it upstaged some of the recent Modern flops in the series. How much does that say about the current state of Sonic caveman?
