Is it even possible for GF to do anything about the absurd power creep in modern Pokemon games? How would one even go about it? They nerfed Brave Bird into oblivion, but what about shit like stat creep?

Literally just do balance passes in Pokemon and move data.
Other games with competitive elements do this in balance patches, you don't even need a sequel.
Pokemon players are so sheltered, they don't know how a proper video game company actually operates.

Yeah I love solved metas where nearly everyone uses the same team because there's no reward to individuality, there's only an award for consistency and half the teams don't even use "psuedo-legendaries (examples being real legendaries)", they just all use things like Mega-Kangaskhan, Aegislash, and Incineroar instead.

Sounds like you haven't played the format in years. Incineroar is the only one out of those that sees play these days and it's mostly because of it's type synergy with tapus and UB's which check for incineroar counters.

That being said even with tapus the team variety is infinitely better than in singles.

Oh, and a simple nerf to intimidate (lowers atk of randomly selected opponent or the one in front of the intimidatemon) would even remedy most of the meta strats, or giving competitive to a couple of better mons. Currently the best user is what, milotic? And milotic loses to 3/4 tapus, celesteela and whatnot.

The series suffered from not having more hard breaks between entries like the ones between two and three, pre XY would have been an amazing opportunity for it, a lot could have been reworked
