>>36570251Nope. Here, I'll post it again in simplified updated form rather than just an image:
>existing players. If it were, you don't remove anything. Especially not 6 core features and 80% of the titular characters.
>children.Already are and there are child, teen, and adult WC title holders. Children can and do understand the metagame which means playing through casually is not an issue either.
>nostalgia.Muh childhood fags wants wild Pokémon battles and don't want anything to do with Megas or Alolan variants because they want what the games were just in HD.
>GO players etc. , to wean them into the main series.Mobilefags whine about paying 10 bucks for a game on a system they probably have two or three of lying around the house just for their own personal usage, let alone 360 minimum. Yes, 360+ because the point is that theey don't own a dedicated game system so they'd have to buy the damn Switch first and the intent would be that they do in this argument for it's existence. Ishihara has talked about this in interviews so this is openly what they're targeting.
But this will fail because you cannot wean someone into liking things they don't like. You can't slowly add shit into someone's Corn Flakes until they eventually get to like it.
Not going to work. Certainly not any better than simply telling them to go back and play all the old ones in order (or putting up a VC/port with all of them) which would introduce the new shit to them just as it was to everyone else and actually be weaning them in rather than removing content to make them LESS like modern games.
Furthermore, expecting them to go from this to S/M or even worse if Gen 8 is actually to be more feature filled like it should be is just not a reasonable expectation. Maybe they'll like LGP/LGE but because of the differences it will not translate into additional main series sales because they'll expect more of that.
And you know what that means for the main series as a whole, right?
