I found a Bellsprout around Cherrygrove and a Girafarig around Lake of Rage then i lost them in a reset because i thought i could just get them again

It was in G/S and I was like 6-7. Saw a shiny Seaking in Mt. Silver and tried to catch it, but stupid PC Box was full. So I killed it, thought it was some special Pokemon and it'd still be there when I came back and never saw it again. Didn't even know shiny was a thing until like Gen IV, even with the red Gyardos. Just thought that was a one time thing and the only discolored pokemon.

I trained him up to a Ludicolo but he seems to have vanished from existence. I checked every single cartridge I own and he's nowhere to be seen.

Excluding the Red Gyarados, my first was an Exeggcute in FLRG. I didn't know shinies were anything special though I only caught it because my brother told me to. I gave it to him and caught a normal exeggcute and bragged to him about how mine had higher stats and that shinies were useless.

Confusion. It was a Zigzagoon in Ruby and it looked like it did a berry eating animation or something to my younger self. The sprite also wasn't different enough to distinguish it much from a normal one (keep in mind these were pre-backlit GBA days). Unfortunately as I was grinding I only had either shit mon on hand who were stupidly underlevelled or had no reliable moves and a Marshtomp that was level 30. Not the best team to weaken a Pokemon with. Likewise only had 3 Poke Balls and a Great Ball to my name. Got it to about 1/3rd health but RNG was not on my side that day so I had to let it go. Roamed that same area hoping to find another one but it didn't happen.
10 years later though when XY came out after beating the E4 I found a Shiny Zigzagoon on the first route so there's a silver lining!

Legit what I said when my 2nd zebstrika encounter on route 7 in Black turned out to be purple played since Gen I back in 98, but had never found a random up to then.

I like Kanto for weird jank and great glitches, which is something Gen I does far better. Kanto itself is actually a really boring region, and I think it really shows in FRLG. If I want a good game experience I'll play a good Gen IV or V game.
