>>36583406>hopesNone, really. If I wanted to watch Mewtwo Strikes Back, I'd just watch the original.
>expectationsA movie similar to the original minus Brock and Misty, but the plot deviates heavily (similar to how it deviated after recreating the first episode in M20) once Ash and [New Characters] get to New Island because Mew's now accompanied by a Gen 8 Mythical (most likely the little whale described in multiple leaks).
Mewtwo kidnaps and clones all the Pokemon including the Gen 8 Mythical, but only Charizard gets any spotlight because now they have an excuse to shill Charizard again.
[Character] sneaks out and frees the originals after they're all cloned, so they all reunite with their trainers and eventually confront their clones, but they don't bother focusing on anyone but Charizard.
The two 'zards fight as the original proves to be superior to the clone until the Clone Mythical forces Clone Charizard to Mega Evolve into X, and it completely stomps Ash revealing the Mythical's ability to cause Mega Evolution without needing a Stone and Accessory.
Insert filler sequences with Team Rocket here and there because they aren't allowed to be involved in movie plots too much, until Mew and the original Mythical combine their powers to beef up Charizard into a brand new form that isn't a Mega Evolution or Battle Bond, to which Charizard effortlessly stomps its clone.
Clone Mythical then Mega Evolves Mewtwo into X while Mewtwo uses some bastardized version of Mew's powerup to take itself a step farther into a form beyond Mega Evolution, but Mew distracts it and the two start fighting as a scene similar to the original plays out, complete with Ash getting blasted into stone and the power of crying bringing him back to life.
Mewtwo learns the errors of its ways, fucks off with the clones and the Mythicals, and everyone winds up back on mainland with no clear memory of what happened other than Ash now somehow knowing how to make Charizard turn into its new form.
