But Yokai Watch was more popular than pokemon (maybe still is) in Japan and Jibanyan got to be the 2020 Olympic mascot along with some other animu characters.

They are living embodiments of daily annoyances, they are chaotic and dangerous for the most part. OF COURSE they aren't going to look as safe and innofensive as pokemon (that's all pokemon are, safe, like mascots, wich often gets confised with better).

Not a flop, they just didn't rush a game last year because they rather put all their energies in making YW4 the best game possible. You know, that thing GF should do but won't. It's why YW4 is clearly superior to LG.

I played 1 and 2- They were actually a lot of fun. Something I wasn’t really fond of was them recoloring certain Yokai and calling them new ones.

I wish more people gave it a chance. It’s a cute, fun little game that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and I really liked the anime. (For the same reasons)

I kind of wish Pokemon could do some of that without being so navel gazing sometimes.
