>>36601070Unique characters like Gym Leaders or Elite Four members should appear more often outside of their designated spots, like visiting their homes, coming across them throughout your journey or maybe just finding them somewhere you wouldn't expect. Recent gens and games handle this in a sort of alright way, like meeting Grimsley in S&M or meeting Gym Leaders in HGSS.
I think Pokemon games really need more side/subquests that involve characters more often, really give the characters and games a bit more meat. You're most of the time just railroaded into going straight forward, other than occasional side attractions like minigames.
