The entirety of the Pokeathlon could be done in the best part of half an hour especially given that the few unlocks it had were tied to best times and again I have to mention that each category was made up of repeating events instead of unique ones for each.

They were superficial at best.

Not to mention the repetitive and limited text or offered for pokemon interaction. They didn't even incorporate nature's into it and such a thing is practically begging for something like that as it stands it only ruins and semblance of immersion by turning pokemon into basic pets instead of creatures that have had personalities since gen 3.
