Legit question, why the Yo-kai Watch hate? The games and spinoffs are top tier after the first, with 3 blowing every 3ds pokemon out of the water in terms of content and difficulty (and with how they added areas from past games in updates, I'm inclined to call it a modern day HGSS in terms of quality). The same goes for Digimon, Jade Cocoon, Monster Rancher, etc. You want pokemon to get better while not having competition? What gives?
