Honestly I played gen 4 so fucking late. I got back into pokemon with Black 2 and I really enjoyed it but I didn't want to play regular black. When I ended up getting on the gen 6 hype train I bought soul silver and it blew me away and when I got around to playing Platinum I was also pleasantly suprised by how much I enjoyed it. With that said gen 6 killed my love for the franchise for a good while.

I git Diamond the night it came out when I was 16 with my first GF and a Dialga stylus. I then got Platnium when it came out on my brother’s birthday and he gave me the money for it and I stole the strat guide from Walmart because there was not a lot of employees around. I never used the strat guides in game but I really liked the Pokédex and the locations of the mon in game and maybe item locations too. I miss those strat guides but I guess in this day and age when you can clickity clack to serebii on your phone in a second a strat guide is redundant. I do have every strat guide up through BW1 though. The BW one is hard cover. P-cool.

Started it again, choose piplup. I am at the 1 gymn had some injected mons but try to make a whole new experience. But damn why is the distribution so shit? Nearly every mon I saw are kanto mons.

Well gen 3 was perfect with it. When I was a kid there were always mostly Pokemon I never saw. But wow, I didn‘t thougt platinum is this bad. I mean it would be ok, if there were something else besides gen1, but just looked. The only worthwile pokemon except regional bird is the electric tiger

My first Diamond team ended up being Torterra, Staraptor and a bunch of Kanto mon (Golduck, Abra, Machamp, Rapidash). It was a fun team but there was a lack of Sinnoh mon.

I HATE third versions, they make the previous versions useless and wheever you buy a pokemon game you never know they're just going to make a better version. I remember the first time I met a kid with emerald and he had groudon and KYOGRE. its fucking shitty like nintendo wants pokemon fans to be more inferior to each other. Its some american bullshit in a japanese game
