I'm guessing he was shown off more than he's saying and gladly signed an NDA, but also got told as more stuff got revealed, he was allowed to start talking about it. Seeing as how it's still spawning in GO, it's clear this was a planned event.

While not indicative of the whole GO community, most of my whatsapp group are going to buy LGEP, I feel it's trying to hook them into Gen VIII, by getting them attached to them in GO/LGEP, then enticing with being able to bring them into Gen VIII with the first gameplay reveal.

It's not fake information, when Niantic's Japanese CEO also tweeted about it, one of the TCG and fully-fledged Pokémon creators drawing art of it, another fully-fledged Pokémon creator retweeting it and of course Joe being hosted by Nintendo to play LGEP recently and most likely briefed on news due to be imminently revealed (like the reveal of the new 'mon in GO slated for that weekend).

I don't have a video but I met up with a very trustworthy friend just yesterday at a wedding and he mentioned he caught about 10 nuttos and 1 of them managed to be a chikorita. The rest were ditto. That's enough proof for me.

How the fuck would Niantic have the model for another gen 8 Pokemon when GO isn't even up to gen 4 yet? It HAS to be the new mon from LGPE you tard.

Nut-chan may not even be a new pokémon, but only a Ditto that tries to transform into the actual new mon and fails do it properly

That would make sense, but this is GF we are talking about. They revealed all ORAS megas before release, and I might be wrong but I remember they also revealed every new gen 6 and 7 pokemon before release

Nah those leaked, they tried not to leak them. I don't think Nutto is the new mon though, it wouldn't make sense for them to release the new one early because it's the only reason people are paying attention to LGPE

Serebii is in on the dance here with this Pokémon, considering they're already on an NDA for Let's Go to be allowed gameplay and posting reviews of same.

Niantic's already milking this for as much hype as they can get, so naturally Nintendo/Game Freak wants to put it to good use as well. If it was an accident, we wouldn't still be seeing Nuttos spawning days later.

This. People forget he was personally invited by TPCi to get a hands-on experience with LGPE, which also most likely doubled as a preview of the marketing strategy they're using with Nutto and confirmation that Nutto is the Pokemon you send from LGPE to GO.
Expect Nutto to become fully established before LGPE releases, but it'll cease spawning entirely in order to create exclusivity; Play LGPE, obtain your Nutto, and then you can send it over to GO for bragging rights until Nutto starts spawning naturally much later on.
