Same goes for Tapu Lele, being weak to steel and poison doesn't help and you usually use moonblast against opposing leles or dragons.
Whimsicott is there because of prankster tailwind shenanigans, the fairy typing doesn't help much, sure it now has an offensive presence, well "offensive".
Xerneas, Mimikyu, Tapu Fini and Mawile instead gain a lot from the fairy typing, specially Mawile, there's no debate on that, it gets an amazing boost in both defenses and offenses.
I wouldn't say that Fairy is the problem itself though, it's more about the combination of Intimidate, fairy and flying and psychic types, to not talk about Lunala and Aegi.
I don't know how I'd buff fighting types to get rid of this problem, maybe give a special perk like how dark types are immune to taunt, maybe they could all have a hidden filter like gimmick where they get reduced damage from SE attacks. That would fit with the "trained fighters" theme or something.
