And think of it this way from a normie's perspective.
You just beat LGPE, are actually interested in Gen 8, and want to play it.
You ALSO want to transfer your precious Charizard from LGPE to Gen 8, so you look into this Pokemon Bank thing.
You find out that LGPE isn't compatible AT ALL with Pokemon Bank.
You're now devastated as your Pokemon are stuck in LGPE forever aside from Meltan, who instead gets to hang out in GO.
It's Gen 3 all over again, and you're not accepting a replacement since Pokemon are all individuals. It might be a Charizard you can get from someone else, but it's not YOUR Charizard.
