This is a great sprite! I've seen some other attempts that were just shitty traces with no idea how to emulate the old style. This looks excellent and really captures how well it fits with the minimal early gen pokemon design philosophy.

Feels like the goo should be coming up onto the nut, or have the nut slightly submerged into the goo. As it is, just placed daintily on top of all the good, kinda makes it's two parts look a little bit disconnected.

Why does it hurt your feelings so bad that your own tastes are not the benchmark for what gets to be a pokemon? Maybe you're the one who needs to grow up and accept that pokemon has always had a wide variety of designs and that not all of them will appeal to you and your tastes are not inherently superior to everyone else's.
