And then before Meltan was officially revealed, name and all, as the Pokemon you send from LGPE to GO, Joe had a previously-baseless claim that Meltan would be that very Pokemon while it was still "???".
It's obvious they told him more than he's letting on, and he's not going to falsely send information that can make him unreliable in the eyes of TPCi.
