How the fuck do people believe meltan appearing in Go was an accident? People truly think it was an accidental leak.
Gamexplain even implied that they did a good job handling the "leak" by discussing the ditto shit in its reveal trailer.
This was the most obvious intentional way to unveil a new pokemon, and as much as I despise gamefreak, it was super smart. Now all the GO fags have their eyes on LGPE again. None of you have braincells whatsoever

If it was all intentional, why did Niantic change the Meltans to Keckleons in the end and made them stop spawning for a while?

I think that this was a fuck up on Niantic's side, and Gamefreak/Nintendo decided to roll with it and turn the fuck-up into the reveal.

It's not that hard to believe TPCi was working on an official reveal for Nutto before Niantic fucked up and they decided the best course of action was to go ahead of schedule. I mean really think, why would they talk about a "Special Pokemon" and hype it up in a way that you have to play the game to see it in the LGPE trailer only to reveal it in this way?

It was obviously a mistake because it didn't only transform into ditto when it was caught in go. It also transformed into chikorita. You guys really think they made it become chikorita on purpose? Also it just happened to start spawniing right after chikorita community day was over. Someone messed up the spawns and Nintendo just rolled with it. It probably was a placeholder. Then they made it mythical because it doesn't have an evolution

Because that's moronic and goes against everything the marketing team has being doing when it comes to pokémon reveals for about a decade now.
TPCi reveals as many pokémon as possible and makes sure to shill mythicals so that people will buy the games they appear in. There is no way they wouldn't use Meltan in marketing and hide it until release.

What else could the special Pokemon be? Special as capitalized as if it were a Mythical or something and Nutto is a Mythical. I seriously doubt TPCi is debuting two Gen 8 Pokemon in LGPE through Go.

It wasn't confirmed anywhere but I'm almost positive that Nutto is the "Special" Pokemon or at least it was planned to be. You can screen cap my shit and btfo me out later if you'd like if I get proven wrong and I'll gladly own up to it, but this just what I believe. It makes sense to me that TPCi would roll with it this way, I just refuse to believe they would hype a secret Pokemon only to reveal later.

Because alongside Meltan being leaked in Pokemon Go, Kecleon was leaked too and started to appear for everyone, almost like both were part of the same bug.
And yet, Kecleon has not been talked about at all on PoGo yet. It all just looked extremely sketchy and weird instead of a planned reveal.

Here's an explanation since you all don't want to use your brains:
TCPI wanted Niantic to have some sort of event showing off Meltan. An easy and cool way to do this would be to make it so ditto transform into Meltan, to make sure players don't somehow get the new pokemon. But how would you do this without being obvious?
Take a pokemon no one has seen or caught. Replace it with Meltan's data. Have Ditto transform into "that" pokemon. Super easy; should have no real side effects other than some people seeing that pokemon. And wow, Kecleon fits the bill! No one has it, and it's not exceptionally legendary in the lore of the game!
So they replaced Kecleons data, and everything went pretty much as planned, other than someone figuring out the ruse extremely quickly through sheer autism.

Then fucking Joe came in and kept spouting bullshit about how it was all this huge mistake and how Niantic fucked up big time, and people took his word as gospel for whatever reason.

We aren't getting anywhere with this so let's just leave it at that. It just doesn't make sense to me that Niantic would replace Kecleon's data as opposed to making new data altogether, it can't be that hard to add it instead of replacing. Also still no explanation for the "Special" Pokemon which I'm positive is the Nut. Joe already changed his mind anyway. We'll see who gets btfo in the future, maybe.

Making a new entry to be deleted later *is* harder. You have to create a dex entry, make sure nothing glitches out and allows players to capture it, make sure nothing new that you're programming on the pokemon breaks the game, create stats and everything, just to remove it later. *OR* you can just re-skin another pokemon no one should give a shit about and call it a day. You also have the added bonus of keeping update sizes small, having everything you need on local servers so you won't have issues of residual data on user's phones later on, and maybe you'll even keep it a secret if no one digs through the files on a minor-looking update and somehow knows to call the server foe Kecleon's model to see it was changed!
