Even worse because sometimes they really just stuck Poison on something cause it fits the "evil" type. The Zubat family and Gengar family have little to no emphasis on their Poison typing, and they're the ONLY Poison/Flying and Ghost/Poison Pokemon!

Although, that also makes you wonder why the Bulbasaur line is Poison type, or why they decided to make Bulbasaur specifically Grass/Poison. Was Bulbasaur supposed to be evil????

They made it so that Bulbasaur can't get poisoned by Weedle in Viridian Forest. The typing is purely defensive.

Gastly's main Pokedex talent is being mostly made of poisonous gas that can knock people out and Haunter's is that his tongue becomes made of gas (however that works). Only Gengar itself drops this trait. Poison-types represent naturally venomous creatures, pollution, and gas. It's not that hard to figure out.

I like type diversity, and pure Steel is one of the rarest type combinations in Pokemon. Adding a bit more to that is fine.
