I think GF are worried that the games would decline in sales if they don't introduce a new gen after a maximum of 2 games. They will probably never go back to the RS>FRLG>E and DP>Pt>HGSS model ever again.

yeah obviously nothing's gonna top Pokemon, but even just getting that far is a real achievement, mainly cause it's never really happened before

And look what Game Freak did! Rotom Dex! I am 100% positive they made that in response to Whisper, which is crazy because Game Freak NEVER acknowledges anything
