Pokemon and Humans can NEVER be friends.

Humans treat Pokemon like slaves. Like pets. Humans polluted the world, filled it with trash. They chopped down the trees, they erected these foul steel structures to house their evils.

Humans are the source of original sin in the Pokemon world. Pokemon and Humans can never truly be friends. They can never truly be equals. Humans will always abuse their partners.

If you were sent to the Pokemon world. You'd use them for your own selfish ends. To seek fame in the Pokemon league, or some such thing. You wouldn't care one bit about loving them or being friends with your Pokemon. You don't deserve them. And neither does any other trainer.

I didn't see you deny it. You would use your Pokemon for your own selfish ends just like I thought. You'd force them to battle until they can't anymore. And then when you're done, or when you find a better one you'll keep them locked in the PC forever.

Either that or you'll discard them like trash. Pokemon are not your war machines. And the fact that you don't care one bit about actually being friends with your Pokemon speaks volumes about how evil you really are.

That's a lie. When you look at lists of favorite Pokemon. It's always the strong ones like Charizard or Garchomp. It's never the weaker ones like Emolga or Corsola.
The cold fact is that humans don't care about being friends with Pokemon. There isn't a single person on this board right now who would legitimately care about being friends.

All any of you want to do is use them to get famous. Or use them to gain status. They're just tools to you.

Humans chopped down trees, polluted the environment and built hideous structures. They formed evil violent gangs to use Pokemon. There are episodes where trainers discard their Pokemon like trash.

Nothing that humans do in the show is good. It's either evil, or could be better if the humans were removed. It hurts my heart to see the poor Pokemon suffering. The naive Pokemon who place their faith in trainers to love and care for them. Only to be cruelly taken advantage of.

Nature might be cruel. But humans are certainly crueler. Mewtwo was right, humans are the problem.

In the miraculous event Pokémon did exist, I would never use them to fight. I would love to befriend fantastical creatures and go on extensive adventures, but that is because battling is not what drew me to this series. It is the design, culture, and lore of this fantasy world that I truly adore.

So to some extent, I understand your point. I do not enjoy nor condone violence, but there are cases when it is necessary for self-defense and there are people who enjoy fighting as a display of skill as opposed to aggression. There are occasions when the show teaches children to respect and protect animals, contradictory as that message may be.

However, the most core element of Pokémon is this: most of them WANT to battle, for a variety of reasons. Some fight to defend themselves or others, some do it for glory or to prove themselves, and some just enjoy the adrenaline rush. When Pokémon are forced to fight against their will, or defending themselves, it is portrayed as cruel and unusual. When they enjoy battling, their successes are celebrated because the wins are rooted in friendship and trust.

Because these creatures have human-like sentience, their situation isn't a direct reflection of animals in the real world. A real organism's impetus to fight is rooted in life and death situations, and in some extreme cases, sadism. The main difference is that Pokémon on both sides of a fair battle are enjoying themselves, while one or both of the animals involved in a real brawl are struggling for survival. While there are exceptions to the rule, it stands to reason that most Pokémon are not abused and crave fame to the same extent as their trainers.

Have you ever had pets? I have. For that reason, I wouldn't get a Pokémon if I ended up in a world that had one. I'd make do with self-defense and survival training.
