>favorite fightI always loved Gastly defeating everyone in The Ghost of Maiden's Peak, but for an actual Pokemon battle it probably is Ash vs. Paul. That was an excellent three-part fight and the best long-term storytelling the show has ever done.
>favorite character of the dayThere are too many to pick. If Gym Leaders don't count, I always liked AJ from The Path to the Pokemon League, Bill, the ghostly maiden and Gastly, the giant Tentacruel, Vincent and Pooka, and the ancient Ninetails.
