Are all gen II cartridges doomed to eventually die?
>after several years, first cartridge no longer has a Continue option, even after starting and saving a new game
>sister gives me her cartridge to wipe and start a new game on, since she doesn't play anymore
>several more years go by
>take it out today
>"The save file is corrupted!"
>start new game
>saves just fine
Asking just in case I want to start Crystal over for the third time sometime. Basically, is there no point to starting over on this cartridge because it'll die again eventually? Yeah, yeah, I know I can buy it on the virtual console and even transfer stuff to Bank, but I like the nostalgia of playing it the old fashioned way.
