Pseudos really went downhill after Gen 5. Hydreigon started the trend of pseudos just being mediocre Pokemon despite having high BSTs. Goodra and Kommo-o are just disappointments all around.

More non dragon pseudos like Metagross would be great, but being dragon type isn’t where they went wrong. Dragon is still one of the best types, and all the strong pseudos stayed relevant despite having massive weaknesses. All the new pseudos don’t see any use because they’re just not good Pokemon.

Hydregion was good in Gen 5, but sucks ass now because if Fairy, and because of it lacking in offense.
Another thing about Psuedos past Garchomp is that they never have Atk or SpA in the 130 range.

Kommo-o's introduction as a Dragon/Fighting mon stipulated Fairy types to be a big part of the game. If Kommo-o or Mega Charizard X ran around in Gen 5 there would be all sorts of hell.

The only reason the new pseudos aren’t as good is because they don’t have megas, or an inflated bst under sand in Tyranitar’s case. Metagross, Salamence, and Tyranitar are pretty much the only ones that are relevant, especially with Garchomp falling out of favor these days.

600 BST almost isn't enough now. Mons need something to inflate or pseudo inflate their stats even more to reach Ubers or OU. TTar gets boosted SpD. Lati@s, Mence, and Metagross get megas. Tapus get terrains that boost their attacks while supporting the team. Greninja gets a midbattle mega or STAB on everything. UBs get an auto stat boost for KOs.

Dragon is also no longer amazing offensively. Between Steel and Fairy being the god types, Dragon is no longer the good neutral coverage. Fug runs Flying as the main STAB. Mega Altaria runs Fairy. Ground, Fairy, Dark, and Flying are the main spammable STABs now. Dragon has some niches defensively, but Goodra doesn't get recovery.
