Silver was cool. When you were young you didn't think much about it, but I was like "I want to get Elm's Cyndaquil back!" all the time, until lategame when I forgot about it lol. He's the only true antagonistic rival in the game, even if he transforms midthru, and that's great. You HAD to stop him and he was against Team Rocket too, just like you, so there was this weird "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" chemistry shit.
Blue was alright, he made me want to grow stronger.
May/Brendan are good in Gen 3 but not 6. They are ahead and are also the Prof's kid so they are slightly more talented than you at first but they don't accomplish much in the end, and Wally takes up on the late game rival slot.
Barry was a friend but he was annoying as FUCK. Hate him.
Cheren should have not been as righteous. He's okay. I don't count Bianca as a rival personality wise.
Paul is shit. Muh sister's Pokémon. Muh Team Plasma. Muh epic twist, the Purrloin is now evil.
Serena and Calem are shit. Always behind you, always belittling themselves with their "waa my parents are veterans, why is my noob neighbor better than me waa".
Hau is the one friendly rival that actually does shit ingame. He's awfully easy to beat and he's always behind except in USUM so there's that. Shit.
