Let me guess, you though Ultra Sun/Moon would do horribly too, didn't you? Let me tell you something, these games will do what they're supposed to - get people who just might buy a new pokémon game to buy a Switch and relive playing pokémon as a primer for when they drop Gen VIII. They KNOW autists like you will run out and pre-order your Switch/Pokémon bundle when they announce the titles, they're after those that either stopped playing and would be receptive to re-enter the franchise (as the cycle goes) or those that flat-out never played a full game, but are slowly getting in with GO. But keep thinking you're right, your spack out when they finish the holiday run-in as the 2nd biggest seller (after Smash) will be hilarious.

People speak up against these games more than they ever have with other titles in the series.

I know this can't be considered "hard" evidence but the tendencies are there. No one believes this isn't going to sell at all, just much worse than Pomemon usually does. And that's a good thing.

we already had a (Mainline) pokemon 3D console adventure over 10 years ago, it's called Colosseum and Gale of Darkness. So you can't tell me that it's not possible to make a good console pokemon title, that's what hurts the most

As much as LGPE deserves to bomb, it'll sell like hotcakes thanks to 'muh nostalgia' combined with the Pokemon brand alone. At least we can find solace in the fact that it's probably the least hyped fans have been for a main series game yet.

Unlikely. By targeting a different demographic than previous games they know they're not gonna get numbers that match previous games, either. If they manage to sell four million copies between the two versions I imagine they'll be thrilled considering how little was spent on them. Anyone who thinks they're going to outright fail is way too optimistic.
