Predators imitating prey and vice versa is really common, and then an example of the third case can be found in some orchid species.
Lurantis is basically a reversed orchid mantis.
Loved the idea, and then I got disappointed by how much of a shitmon it actually is, and I haven't given it much thought since.
Same thing happened with the Vic Viper bug. Not even a competitivefag, but disappointing viability can really kill a mon for me, and this is coming from someone who likes to carry NFEs in his runs.
