Icirrus is pretty underrated. Most people remember it for how white it gets in winter, but getting there in spring on a foggy rainy day feels great. Wish I could make a gif of the player chilling under the windmill.

Yup, I really like Iris' theme because it just fits perfectly for her and the "rainbowy" aesthetic of the fight. Probably my favorite Champion theme.

Probably is, especially since they remixed all the champion and gym leader themes prior to Gen 5. They even made Sinnoh's gym theme sound more intense.

Alder's theme is just "Have fun you winner, you! Yes, winner, because you've already won!'

Even Iris' theme was more threatening in it's lightness. Hell, even the themes in Gen 7 were more threatening and they're just a title and friend theme remix.

A remix literally being used in a meaningless exhibition match in the case of S/M.

Battle: colress (overrated) I'm sure of it. But the moment you hear his battle theme you are instantly reminded of gen 5 as an entirety, almost like gen 5 was going all out- or the last mainline game to go all out. Both nostalgic and cool

Not as far as I know. It’s such a nice touch, adaptive music is a good method in game music to stop looping tracks from getting too repetitive. And in true gamefreak fashion it was dropped in the very next generation. I also liked how some of the caves had the music change key down a step when you went to a lower floor. And victory road adds in instruments as you go through each individual badge check if I recall correctly. Fuck Gen 5 had some care put into it.
