Besides, a not-Patreon pool where the benefactors may not commission the same amount in the pool (say one guy throws 5 bucks in and another guy throws 65 in the pool among others, but the guy with 5 bucks is vocal and eager about getting his idea done over the guy with 65. That's a spark that can turn the group sour easily).
If you can't afford a superb artist, save up for one or get a better job. Pools seem convenient but they can also be exploited by penny pinchers and freeloaders looking to get quality without sacrifice.
