>>36669953>RitchieAsh being a rookie who expected Charizard to finally listen when there was no one worth its time and the League being a bunch of fucktards and not postponing the match after TEAM FUCKING ROCKET interrupted it to allow both sides to rest and refresh themselves, and also decided to consider Charizard as being unable to battle when Ritchie's Pokemon would have most likely irritated Charizard enough to actually do something after a few hits.
>HarrisonActually a pretty legitimate match, but naturally status quo pushed a loss because they needed to flaunt Blaziken as this Ridiculously Powerful Pokemon that even surpasses Charizard.
>TysonAlso somewhat legitimate with nothing of note.
>TobiasAsh legitimately became such a powerful force with his choice of Pokemon and the shit he's gone through that the writers and executives had to quickly shoehorn the Anime Equivalent of a Game Protagonist just to bitch slap him with no forewarning, and then outright reset his powerlevel for Unova and vow to never let him use Pokemon he's previously acquired aside from Pikachu in a Pokemon League, ever.
>CameronLegitimate bullshit that only happened because they wanted to shill Lucario.
>AlainLet's be honest. Alain was the real protagonist of Kalos, but the writers were still stuck with Ash despite wanting to do something different for once in their lives. This is something of a way to get payback on the executives and TPC for being stuck writing the same damn thing for almost 20 years, but at least he wasn't completely out of left field like Tobias. If Ash wasn't the fucking "Mickey Mouse" of Pokemon, he could have finally saw closure here in winning a tournament and engaged in an honest-to-god official match with the Elite Four. Sure, he'd lose there, but it would've been better than the writers taking out their anger by masking it as Charizard Shilling courtesy of the guy who should've been the protagonist.
